A Reflection on Pakistan’s Present and Future in the Era of Technology and Science
Hello everyone,
My name is Sharjeel, and today I want to share a part of my journey, my concerns, and most importantly — my vision for Pakistan. Especially for our youth, who stand at a crossroads in this rapidly advancing era of technology and science.
🗣️ “The best way to predict the future is to invent it.”
— Alan Kay, Computer Scientist
I completed my intermediate education in 2019 with a focus on computer science. Fascinated by technology, I went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in the same field. However, from my very first practical class in university, I felt disheartened.
My professor began teaching web development basics — things I had already learned years earlier through YouTube, absolutely free.
💡 “That moment opened my eyes to a harsh truth: in Pakistan, our education system teaches things far too late — and often not deeply enough.”
By the time I graduated in 2024, I had already built a strong foundation in internet technologies — including deep knowledge of the deep web, dark web, and blockchain. I taught myself how to build complete crypto ecosystems, web platforms, mobile apps, and more.
Each skill came with its own story — some of struggle, some of passion, and all of resilience.
🗣️ “Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.”
— Jim Rohn
Today, I look around and see a Pakistan full of untapped talent — a country with immense potential, yet deeply wounded.
Too many of our youth are directionless. Too many lack motivation or awareness of what’s possible.
At the same time, millions across the globe are earning online — teaching, freelancing, launching startups, and using digital skills to transform their lives.
Despite the challenges, I believe in Pakistan’s youth. We’re creative, capable, and resourceful. We just need to break free from the colonial mindsets, outdated systems, and mental chains that limit us.
🗣️ “You were born with wings, why prefer to crawl through life?”
— Rumi
We can rebuild our economy. We can innovate, lead, and export technology to the world. All we need is focus, planning, and bold action.
Here’s my dream:
That in the next 10 years, Pakistan’s youth — today’s students, freelancers, job-seekers, thinkers, and creators — rise up and build the Pakistan they want to live in.
🗣️ “Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.”
— John F. Kennedy
Let’s stop waiting for change.
Let’s become the change.
The world is moving fast, and we can either be left behind — or choose to lead. Let’s equip ourselves with skills, empower others, and collectively lift this nation from the ground up.
The future isn’t just something we walk into. It’s something we build — together.
